Poland is known for their pizza
As of August 29, 2010, the record for longest pizza is now held by the good people of Magillo, a restaurant in Krakow, Poland. To beat the previous record holders, Magillo would have to meet a few official pizza stipulations. The pie would have to be one continuous pizza, with at least two toppings (other than the obvious cheese layer), and surpass the previously recorded footageof 407 meters.
The Polish, although not traditionally known for their pizza making skills, managed to more than double the previous record (held by Italians…of course) with their pizza reaching 1010 meters and 28cm! Wha-wha-what? 200 chefs helped coordinate the pizza making efforts which resulted in the use of 3.5 tons of flour, hundreds of ginormous crust squares, and took about 18 hours to complete. The restaurant owners wrangled a huge number of volunteers to kneed the dough by hand, and decided on sweet corn and mushrooms for their chosen toppings (as a vegetarian I appreciate their cruelty-free choice, but corn and mushrooms? Really….that sounds gross). The pizza was cooked using a four-oven train set that chugged its way down the 1km long pizza table to ensure the pizza was cooked to perfection…and yes, people ate the pizza when it was all over.
I will personally visit whatever city decides to take on the task of the longest brownie…I am that passionate about record setting.
Record this: A truck school in Poland sells pizza to their students for less than a penny.
